Security Services

This is much more than than the standard scan using Norton or Mcaffee tools. This service can be used as part of the business continuity service or standalone. We differ in showing you and your employees good practice and what is and isn't acceptable. We use tools and presentations to reduce your risks to hacking or misuse of your systems. Business Continuity

We have now added a Business Continuity Service which when included with a Business Critical Service is an intensive risk analysis of your business and management processes. The Business Continuity looks at the non - IT aspects of your business whilst the Business Critical Service investigates any loss of service to you of downtime of your IT systems. The combined service uses the skills of our team including our management consultants for the Business Continuity service and our team of certified IT consultants for the Business Critical Service. The scope of the combined service could be identifying a single point of failure within systems, processes, personnel, hardware, software, the reliance on a single individual for critical tasks, poorly documented procedures, over reliance on contract staff, and many many other issues. Our objective is to identify the risks and suggest solutions where appropriate. You can then make judgments on the costs and benefit of making changes. Web Design and Web SIte Management

Our partner Keith Bateman is the winner of a prestigious award 'Best Community Web site'. Keith can not only design and code your web site so that you can update and make design changes to it yourself but will provide a managed service for you if you don't have the time. Keith specialises in the use of 'Open Source' software to keep costs down and has developed his own sophisticated Content Management System. Keith is based in Australia which is advantageous to our UK clients as he can work on changes to your site whilst you sleep.

Capacity Management

One of our key skills is Capacity Planning and Management based on modeling IT environments. Our data collectors collect very high quality information on what the hardware and software is doing. Each software transaction is decomposed and the time spent at each service centre calculated. This way we know how long the transaction spends at the various components of hardware ( such as I/O controller, Adapters, disks, CPU, Network ) or indeed the software server ( such as the SQL server processes ). Little's law is then used to make projections as the mix or amount of work is done. The graph from a real study shows how much additional work can be sustained on this medium sized IT environment before performance degrades exponentially.

Recycling

We are able to clean your system by the use of sophisticated tools that will delete and overwrite data - or indeed the whole disk. Many years ago we wrote our own tools to clean systems using repetitive randomised data. But as recovery tools are ever becoming more sophisticated and readily available we now use specialist tools. Once we have deleted the entire contents of your disks we can reinstall the operating system for donation to schools or charities or disposal.
